Plot
"One of the finest science fiction thrillers of the 1950's, inspired by a Ray Bradbury outline that was modified for Universal-Internation by Harry Essex, and originally released in 3-D. Bug-eyed aliens crash land near the home of astronomer Richard Carlson. The ""Xenomorphs"" merely wish to repair their spaceship, and need human beings as mechanics, so they replace them with doubles. The repair work is slow, so more doubles are needed. Eventually the local townsfolk catch wind of what's happening and decide to take action against the aliens. One of the first to portray benevolent aliens, it is also a pleas for better understanding between races."

Summary
"Amateur astronomer John Putnam (Richard Carlson) and his fiancee Ellen Fields (Barbara Rush) are stargazing in the desert when a spaceship bursts from the sky and crashes to the ground. Just before a landslide buries the ship, a mysterious creature emerges and disappears into the darkness. Of course, when he tells his story to the sheriff (Charles Drake), John is branded a crackpot; but before long, strange things begin to happen, and the tide of disbelief turns...
Local citizens begin to disappear, people are behaving strangely, and there seems to be an inexplicable run on electrical equipment at the hardware store. When Ellen vanishes as wll, John takes matters into his own hands. Racing against time, he must somehow prevent a fiery, tragic confrontation from errupting between the frightened, paranoid townsfolk and the temporarily stranded aliens.
Based on a story by acclaimed writer Ray Bradbury, It Came from Outer Space is a science fiction classic that is as thought-provoking and tantilizing today as it was when it first ""landed"" on the silver screen."
